Sydney is the largest city in Australia, with a metropolitan area population of approximately 4.34 million. It is a great city and the perfect choice for studying. Sydney is a cosmopolitan city, combining excellent business and education facilities. It is a beautiful, safe city, well known for its friendly people and clean air.

Sydney has been voted ‘world’s best city’ and this large city has one of the world’s most stunning harbours and sandy beaches. It has a dynamic and cultural scene and the moderate climate contributes to Sydneysiders’ relaxed lifestyle.

Sydney Harbour is one of the most recognisable symbols of Australia. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel arch bridge across Sydney Harbour and has connected the Sydney CBD with the North Shore of the harbour since it opened in 1932. It is one of the most beautiful harbours in the world and it is very special to the city of Sydney.

Sydney Opera House
The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre on Bennelong Point in Sydney, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Sydney Opera House is a fascinating building and heart of Sydney’s cultural scene. It opened with a concert hall, an opera theatre, a drama theatre and a recital hall, as well as restaurants and bars. A fifth theatre was added within the structure in 1998.

Bondi Beach
Sydney is well known for Bondi Beach, one of the most famous clean beaches in the world. It is a modern and trendy coastal resort where you can relax, play games or take a walk. Bondi Beach has a number of cafes and restaurants which look out over the beach an makes it a great place to visit.

Weather
The climate in Sydney is mild year-round and it has more than 340 sunny days a year. The summer season is from December through to February. The weather is warm and sunny, averaging 27 degrees Celsius during the day and 20 degrees at night. The winter season is from June through to August. Sydney winters are mild, averaging 15 degrees during the day. So Sydney’s weather is perfect throughout the year, making it an attractive destination from students from all over the world.

Food
Australian cuisine has the most diverse range, quality, and inventiveness than many others in the world. Australia is well known for its fresh ingredients such as seafood, local fruits, beef and lamb, as well as its world class cheeses. Sydney offers many types of cuisine for all budgets. Restaurants, cafes, snack bars all serve high quality fresh food. There are also a lot of supermarkets with a wide range of food.

Transport
Sydney had a comprehensive and safe public transport system which includes a network of trains, buses, ferries, monorail and light rail. There operates an extensive network of transport services throughout the city. There are also many taxis available. Students can get discount tickets and weekly transport passes.

Parks
Sydney has beautiful natural areas and open spaced situated within the city. Parks and gardens are scattered throughout the city. A lot of students relax in parks on their lunch-break or use parks or gardens for recreation such as picnics, walking or cycling on the weekend. Famous parks are Hyde Park, Botanical Gardens and Centennial Park.
